Emily & John: A Rustic Summer Wedding at Mitchell Ponds Inne: Knox, PA

When I first met up with Emily & John to talk about their wedding, I could just tell how much these two loved each other. They were so kind and friendly. They told me the story of how they met and what they evisioned for their big day. Since the first time we talked, I couldn’t wait until the day of their wedding.

The bouquets and accent flowers were made from freshly picked Hydrangeas, which looked beautiful. The weather couldn’t have been any nicer than it was on the day of their wedding. Emily & John decorated the reception Barn with antique books and framed photos of them throughout the years. The ceremony was outdoors in front of a big pond and gorgeous grape vine arch covered in more hydrangeas. While the bridesmaids were coming down the isle, a big gust of wind came and swept leaves from the trees making it an incredibly magical moment. Johns reaction to seeing Emily for the first time actually made me tear up a bit…i’ll admit it, i’m a romantic sap.

After their ceremony, we spent some time getting the group shots. The wedding party made those photos a lot of fun! During the reception, Emily & John did the Shoe Game, which is a personal favorite of mine. (How it works is the couple takes off their shoes and they trade each other a shoe. They are placed back to back and the DJ asks questions and the bride and groom raise the shoe of who is more likely to do whatever the question asked.) It’s so funny seeing how they answer. I hope as Emily & John look through the photos from their day, they can relive even the small moments that made it so special.
